I have decided that to keep my sanity, I need to stop watching television or reading the news. Of course, I doubt I will be able to continue this practice, but I wish I could. I wish I could just throw the TV out the window and never watch it again. I also wish I could send my computer right after it. There are so many times, and these are increasing daily, that I would like to be living in a small cabin in the mountains somewhere with no phone, no television, no computer, and not another living soul anywhere near me.
Every day there are stories of kidnappings, murders, molestations, death. We have a government running amok. We have so many people trying to tell us what we should and should not do, how we should and should not live our lives. Our government is breathing down our backs trying to control ever facet of our lives. I am so sick of the whole thing. LEAVE ME ALONE! I want to shout it from the rooftop. What was America thinking when they elected Barack Obama and the left-wing loons into office?
This has gotten out of control. For example: You will not be able to sell your house unless it passes government inspection. You will have to pay more money for electricity, etc., to encourage the use of alternative fuels, even though no such fuels are available to you. You will be penalized for everything. It is pure government greed. Steal our money. Madoff got 150 years in prison. The government should get life. They are using the law to steal our money and we are letting them.
Some scientist has decided that food tastes too good which is why we are fat. Hmmmm. French food tastes better than ours, yet they are skinny for the most part. Go figure. So, this scientist thinks we should ban all food that tastes good. Who the hell is he to decide? Who the hell is anyone to decide how fat or thin we should be, how much money of our own we should get to keep or have to give away, whether our house has double windows or not, what kind of car we are allowed to drive, and the list goes on.
Seriously, who the hell do any of these people think they are? This is not a socialist country. We have freedom, freedom from tyranny. We have liberty. Our constitution provides this, promises this. The government is completely going against the constitution and we are just sitting back and letting them.
I am watching the Sound of Music. The opening scene is worth it alone. The beauty of the Austrian/Swiss/Italian Alps is amazing. For a moment, an hour and a half, I can forget about the crappy world we live in and lose myself in a beautiful movie. Beautiful singing, beautiful scenery. Who cares if the story is accurate or not. I don’t. It is a beautiful movie and I am going to put it in every night from now on. It is my escape. I cannot move to a mountain cabin in the middle of nowhere for now, so this will have to do. I am so dismayed at the American people for electing this government. Not just Obama, but all the other loons in Congress as well. People just allow themselves to be lied to by these people over and over and over again and put them back in office time and time again. We are so stupid. Other countries would beg to be able to change these leaders and representatives as often as we are allowed to and yet we choose time and time again to put back the same liars, the same thieves, the same dullards, the same controlling nazieske people.
