All our prays tonight are going to Michael Brewer. Michael Brewer is a young man, 15 years old, who was set on fire by some other young men over a video game and a bicycle. First of all, I don’t care what it was over, this is completely horrific. What kind of world do we live in? I have asked this before. But seriously, what kind of world do we live in where one young man sets another young man on fire? Fod God’s sake! I thought I had heard it all. I have read of so many horrifying things happening in this world. In fact, I remember when Nelson Mandela was in prison and his wife was implicated in a thing where they set a man on fire who was placed inside tires so he could not escape because they thought he had spied or something. I also remember a young man who was set on fire by his own father and then the father had the audacity to want to visit his son who had survived.
How can one human being set another human being on fire? What goes wrong in someone psyche that would allow them to do such a thing? I cannot fathom how this young boy’s mother is surviving this when my heart aches so much and he is not even my child. Come on people! This violence has to stop. It has to stop!
